If he would have hit the car more in the front and there was nothing on the other side of that car (lets say just empty road or grass) and he was wearing leathers, he would have been in much better condition that if there was an air bag there in that instance. Instead he would have internal injuries from that sudden dead stop in inertia. But like everything, circumstances are always a bitch.

Wow, that looks interesting. I just wonder what would happen in certain situations if they worked out a few things. It looks like it worked in that scenario, but if you were leaned over, the air bag opening would fuck you up.

I can't imagine the pain in that guys nuts though... gaaaas tank.

Even on Honda's Gl1800, they admit, "in certian situations" it works well. They admit that you would still most likely break your legs/ankles and wrists but you wouldnt physically hit the auto with your head.

I could deal with breaking bones in a situation like that... but I'm guessing most t-bones like that would result in far worse. I don't know what the official statistics are on it, but I'm sure before putting them on bikes they have done their research.

Or they think that most "air-bags" that ride bikes like that would just have to have them, like gps, 18 headlights and extra seat padding....
