For everyone that was wondering why I was missing my shifts at lightning. This is a pic that my friend took of my transmission after we pulled out the engine and took the tranny out this past week. Gears aren't supposed to be black, my drive gear shift fork was pretty worn from rubbing on the gears, and acutually was blue in some spots from the heat generated. Looking at replacing everything.
That thing must have been sizzling to turn such massive gears black.
Is the replacement cost of the individual gears worth it? Just curious. This is when a cassette type transmission would be a great thing. That must have been a hell of a job removing the transmission from the bike.
I had the transmission out on my TZ250 today to replace the oil filter and in comparison that was simple.
Good luck getting it back together soon.
Ken
Hopefully it wont shift to STIFFYly.................
