Default Deer Whistle?

So, I've heard about these but does anyone have them on your bike and/or cage. I think it's a great idea and am considering getting for both. Any +/- input would be great. I'd think it's entirely possible that they might get scared enough to run out in front of you but maybe I'm wrong? Thanks.

Sounds like a good idea, however, I used to have them on my Jeep (which I got from my father), ended up hitting 2 deer. Animals are tricky and unpredictable, no noise is going to scare them off. Actually, I seem to remember an article years ago which said certain noises, including high pitch noises, have a likely chance of making a deer stand in it's place trying to figure out what it is... which would be great if they only had ears off road, but they're stupid, and go where they want. Also, if deer scare, they run in whatever direction suits them... which is usually right back into traffic.

Best bet to avoid them is be careful at night, and during the day, keep your eyes out. It just sucks, because in upstate NY, they are on EVERY road... so it makes night riding less fun.

Maybe everyone should invest in a deer shredder to attach to the front of your bike... like a high powered high speed paper shredder, but will shred the deer instead of letting you take the hit... now THAT would be awesome. Like a modern day cow catcher/home butcher kit.
