Default exhaust question hairline crack?

hey guys, does anyone if you can fix a hairline crack on a slip on? I bought a used exhaust GYTR for my FZ1 and it came with a hairline crack. I contacted the seller and I'm waiting to hear from him about what happened.

I'll try to post a pic but it's on the end where the midpipe connects to the carbon muffler. I guess I could have someone weld the stainless steel part but it does leak in the carbon fiber part as well right by the rivets. What do you guys think I should do, or should I try to get a partial or a full refund? If I can fix the pipe and partial refund, I'll be fine with that I guess?

Looks like you'll have to take the can apart and have someone weld up the inside edge.
You should consider repacking the can while it's apart as well.

update: I spoke to the seller and he said he would refund me the money which he did. He doesn't know how it happened and he insured the package so UPS came and picked it up. They will let him know after a damage specialist checks it all out. I'm glad everything went smooth but now I'm back to stock.
