Obama chose his words wisely during the campaign knowing there were lots of "Blue" voters who are also pro-second amendment. Revealing that his goals included curbing 2nd amendment rights would have put him in a pickle during the campaign.
I am not surprised by this. I also renewed my NRA membership and my NYS Rifle and Pistol Association memberships recently.
Gun owners who've ignored this probability and still voted for this administration are directly to blame and deserve no pitty if the drastic proposals being considered are passed.

ok now i'm buying a assault rifle. I love how he has all these problems with the economy and the war, but this is important. Liberals
Going to the big gun show in PA and picking up a couple on march 14th. I would have never thought of buying one if Obama never made an attempt to ban them. Thanks Obama, I'll stimulate the economy my own way

yeah as soon as Obama got in I applied for my gun permit. I got it in 3 weeks.... YES I SAID 3 WEEKS!!! Your not going to get it that quick. I got lucky that my town doesn't mess around and one of my friends is a cop in the town.
I picked up at Sig P226 the 2nd day I got my permit. I have another pistol permit I can use.
They can't take away the guns that you already have! I would get the permit cause maybe they will make it harder to get one, or make it a lottery of who can have one.

Don't count on that. Never say never.
Look what happened in New Orleans after katrina. Mayor Nagin ordered the illegal confiscation of legal firearms in New Orleans after Katrina. It was a disaster.

Technically, no. It lacks high capacity. Its a military battle rifle, but just a semi-auto and not capable of full auto fire.

If manufactured prior to 1994 it's an assault firearm in NJ
