why is there a cut near the end of the levers

Default why is there a cut near the end of the levers

do you see that little indentation ,,on all the levers about a inch from the end ?

should you go down, it will snap at the weak spot (at the cut) in theory leaving you with a functional lever, just a bit shorter.

That is genius.....I remember the old days with the rubber mount turn signals ,,they would bend in half ,get scraped then pop back and still work without the lens....Heres one.... did you know the ball at the end is so you wont get stabed by the lever in a crash !

Yeah, Genius, EH? The ball is there to protect you in the event of a crash,
but the cut is there so that the ball breaks off in the event of a crash,
which leaves you right back where you started with a sharp metal object...

ya think if you crash and the bike comes down on ya that that ball will stop the lever from stabbing ya, the real reason for the ball is to make it hurt more as the blunt end stabs thru ya

That would suck going down in full gear and only getting admitted to surgery for a busted lever in your wrist.
