Default More protection for more CCs?

Do you guys and gals think more/better protection is in order for a faster bike? Does gear for a 600cc bike compare for a 1000cc? Any thoughts?

Assume the rider is a somewhat responsible rider.

I would say it has nothing to do with CC's. Guys in MotoGP runing 250's wear the same gear as the big boys. On the street its the same, 50mph(for arguements sake) is 50 mph, no matter what cc bike you have.

There are no stupid questions....just stupid people.(who ask them)....

UMMMMMM cakes is correct......100 mph is 100 mph... you skid at that speed your skin is tearing off no matter how many cc's your bike is? Unless your a retard and bigger bikes just happen to make you go crazy when your on it, but i think that most people are nuts on their bikes regardless

So much for "the only stupid question is the one not asked"

I wear the same gear if I'm on my 500cc or my 996

<-- retarded!

What I'm really concerned with is whether or not I would need to get leathers vs mesh with a faster bike. faster bikes take off faster and get to "50mph" quicker than a slower one.

I see now the error of my ways as I didn't really think the question through. It seems the answer to this question can only be opinion based and not fact based.

i.e. why faster cars have two band strapping seat belts vs the norm.

I get your points though.

I like this one:

As Cakes pointed out before the "fact" is 50mph on a 600 is the same as 50mph on a 1000.

Best thing you can do is ride in quality gear at all times.

Bigger = more power to control. more chances of showing off that power and then picking one's busted ass up off the road

You mean like this?

For those of you that don't know, yes, that's the Q-ball host of the show.
