Believe me, this is just one step. It always starts small. Once everyone is ok with this one, whats next? Alcohol? Porn? As far as Im concerned this is as bad as Virginia's "crimes against nature" law which bans all oral and anal sex regardless of the gender of the parties involved. Freedom huh?

Everything isn't that simple. Its a stupid law, and IMO the government shouldn't tell us what we can and can't do if its a legal substance.
Well you are entitled to your opinion as am I. But the bottom line is come april you and all your smoking friends are shit out of luck. Now, you will have to hang around outside like a bunch of junkies standing outside the methadone clinic.

Dude, I"m a smoker too and I agree with him. Second hand smoke is bad. I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing to have smoke free areas. Does it suck for me? Yeah absolutely. My roommate doesn't smoke so I go outside. No big deal. It's being courteous to the people around you. If I want to kill myself by smoking, then so be it. But others shouldn't have to deal with that.

Well fine i'll put the "i smoke" thing to the side and be honest here. I think that there are 2 things wrong with this law.

1.) If they're gonna ban smoking in clubs, bars, food joints, and private clubs then they should also ban it in AC. No establishment should be above the law. I think the non smokers should tell the government that they want to go gamble in a smoke free AC.

2.) I know they can't have the bars choose wether to be smoke free or not. That means that 99.5% of the bars would still allow smoking in there places. But i don't agree with the private clubs. 2 clubs my dad belongs to will be affected. (no my dad doesn't smoke but it doesn't bother him if people do) The first club is the American Legion. Why should those guys be told what they can and can not do. They served our country and should be able to smoke all they want. The second club is a private Athletic club. They are a club that does charities to support the town youth sports, and the town in general. This is a private club that you have to be a probationary member for 1 year before they decide if your in or not. Why should the government tell them that they can't smoke in there non public bar in there non public establishment? It doesn't make sense.

I just feel that if they can get away this kind of law, sooner or later there gonna start making other laws that will affect all of us. I don't mind having to go outside and smoke. Since im a poor working man living in a apartment i only go out once a week. So them making me go outside is a good thing. Its gonna cut down on my smoking while drinking a beer, and its gonna get me more excersise then just sitting on a bar stool the whole time.

Oh and Ant i have a non smoker roomate also. I have no problem going outside to enjoy my marlboro light. Its nothing but a chicken wing on a string from burger king.
