Default New Bike

Just got a new used bike: A 2004 BMW R1150R Rockster. Rode it back from Northern VA to my parents home in Northern NJ. I'll take it the rest of the way to CT Monday morning. All in all, yesterday was a 338 mile day. Not too bad and long distances on the Rockster is much more comfortable than on an EX500. The heavier bike is much more stable on the highway. I can't wait to take the bike to some twisties.

I liked the bike ever since I sat on Rock's bike. For the type of riding I do (long distance, twisties, not uber-fast), I think it's the right bike and I like it a lot. My old EX500 was a great learner, but it's time to move on. I put about 3000 miles on her since June. Part of me is going to miss her. I haven't sold her yet, but I will because I don't have the time to ride two bikes.

Never had too much interest in pure sportbikes, but was considering the FZ6, SV, etc. I really wanted the beemer, and now I got it. I'll post some action shots when I get them.

Honda makes a great sport-tourer too, it's called the Interceptor, you've been hanging around someone too long.

Very nice ride John, and I only say that because it seems to be the right bike for you, not because someone else says it's a great bike.

Good luck with it man!

The VFR did cross my mind. The used ones I saw were more than I wanted to spend. I got a really good deal on this one. $7800 for just under 3600 miles.
