Default Mobil gives way to Lukoil

It seems within the past month nearly every Mobil I used to see within a 30 mile radius along my route has been converted to Lukoil, prices have not been effected. Prior to this occurance I had never heard of the name.

They took over philly about the end of last year. There are still a few mom and pop shops left standing where I'm at so I always try to give them my business over these guys.

I started going to an american owned sunoco who always has very competitive prices. I could be wrong, but I think Luk oil is Russian.

Maybe if we're lucky some hot Russian strippers will be dancing on poles at the pumps while we gas up.

For $3.15 a gallon, they should give out blowjobs with every fill up.

Did anybody notice how the gas prices really started going up when Amoco and Mobil got replaced with BP and Lukoil? Just a coincidence?

yeah Luk is russian and they are actually one of the largest companies out there IIRC....

As you all know Exxon and Mobil merged a few years back... The stations I first noticed that converted were in Brick and those just happened to be Crown stations back in the day.. Might be a franchise related thing?

All I know is my bike needs 90 octane and I thought the only options were going to be 87, 89 and super (92/93)... Sunoco sells 91 and they are the cheapest station in my area... woo hoo...

Either Lukoil has bought out the entire franchise, or they've bought out just the mobil name. Personally I don't really care who owns the gas, I just care about the place with the average best price on regular!

i'd be interested to know why you think your bike needs 90. does the manual call for it?
