Hadn't heard about that one, only the oil burning issue which
supposedly only effects about 10% of them.
Anyway, from what it looks like the 2008-2010 1000rr are pretty much identical aside from graphics, so I imagine they want to get rid of that old stock. I mean, aside from the aforementioned issue I have not heard a single bad thing about the bike. Apparently it feel tiny and lightweight (relatively speaking), has a monster midrange and very easy to go fast on.
