I went all track last year and loved it....this year I've been doing both. Biggest thing I have noticed is that I don't drive fast on the street anymore. It's more of hey it's a nice day out so I'll take the bike to work....or I don't feel like driving my truck so I'll ride. I could easily live without street riding when I'm on the track but do it just for a change of pace. The other thing I have noticed is that on the street I now worry more about the car pulling out in front of me....the guardrail...etc when I think about going fast and then I think about it and am like I'll be on the track soon why risk it....just my .02 cents

If I could afford to do more track days i would probably never ride on the street. It has no thrill anymore unless I am doing the back hills of West Virginia! But, I do still ride on the streeet a little, but I realy just do not enjoy it anymore. I am infinitely more aware now though, and my skills on the street have improved dramatically. I guees that awareness makes me more and more scared of all the crap that u can get into on the street. It just seems almost stupid. But yet, I still do it...for now.

I won't give up one for the other, I see track days more as a means of
improving my riding skills, and street rides more as a social, hang out with
like minded friends situation.

I agree 100 % with Rob.Also, You got to remember that just because your riding skills are greatly improved, you need to keep your defensive driving skills up too.

i don't think i'd give up street riding because there are somethings street riding provides that track riding cannot, for me, mainly the day long sport touring type of rides through mountain back roads and the cool things you can see along the way. that's why i've been thinking of getting a more 'sport touring' type of bike and have my sportbike dedicated for track. in a sense, i guess i'd be giving up all out sport riding on the street. i think i can still enjoy it.

I love the track. I like riding my bike as a commuters vehicle to and from school when I can. I don't really go on group rides anymore because most people in my area are dipshits anyway.

I will always ride on the street. That being said, I most likely will continue to roadrace (going on year 13) but I will increase my motard activity (best bang for the buck) and contine to fuck myself up on my NSR50 on the local kart track.

It's ALL GOOD!!!!

i'm thinking about eventually(money wise and if i try the track and like it) getting a goldwing for the street and have a track bike. i love crusing around but there are just to many variables on the street to be riding fast. we'll see.

Even if/when I hit up track days I'll never give up my favorite backroads.
