Default And we wonder why/how kids get abducted

I'm exiting a local Shop Rite today when I look down to my right and there's two young Middle Eastern looking kids standing there under the overhang to keep out of the rain. One boy about the age of 3 and one girl about the age of 5. I'm shocked as everyone keeps walking by and doesn't even think to watch these kids or ask them where their parents are cuz they're so concerned with beating the raindrops to their cars.

So I stand about 6 feet away so they don't get nervous and I ask them where mom or dad is. The girl said they were waiting for their father who was getting the car in the parking lot. I said ok and proceded to stand watch over them, as I do I look at the clock...still waiting.

Finally almost 4 minutes later a man resembling the same nationality comes quickly walking to them and proceedes to grab the girls hand in an rush. Doesn't even ask me who I am or why I'm there, so I quickly stopped him and and asked the little girl if this was her dad and she looked up at me and said yes as the father gave me a dirty look. I just shook my head at him while saying "unbelievable" out loud.

I don't care what other cultures do in other parts of the world but here you watch your kids at all times.

What I meant was, here we don't look after our kids. In general, people today seem too consider their children an afterthought. Parenting.... isn't that what tv and them that intar-web is for?

Its worrisome.

seriously, people have no common sense sometimes. horrible parenting = messed up kids = messed up adults = messed up society = horrible parents = repeat vicious cycle.

this is how i can tell if their parents did a good job parenting their kids.

When u see a younger kid/teenager/adult cross the steet, u'll see that they'll look to the left, then to the right, then to the left...take one step look at the right again...n take another look to the left...while walking across the street, they'll keep doing the same thing till they are done crossing...

but thats just me tho...

reason: the parents know that they're kids life is too precious then for it to be ended by some car running them over while they're crossing the street....

so much for caring huh. you would think he would thank you for looking over his kids while he went to get the car. NOW --- on the other hand IF the kids were abducted by someone else and you seen it i bet everything i have to own that he would have asked and drilled questions to you as to why you didnt do anything.

if im not within reaching distance of my kids i go ape shit looking for them. 9 times out of 10 their right beside me or my wife but there is an occasional time that they wonder off to the next aisle in Target or another store where its filled with toys and its heaven for them. but my kids know, they seen shows and see what happens to kids that are abducted and what not, so they are usually nagging us to go to the next aisle over.

some parents are fucking horrible, if that were me and my wife knew she would have my head on a platter!!!

good job Ron. i applaud you for this. and i definately applaud you for saying to the father what you said!
