sicne i'm a nice guy n have some time here are the steps...

Hardwire through an ethernet cable to the dsl modem

Open I.E. or safari..i like to do this on desktops ebtter btw

type in 192.168.1.1 in the address bar press enter

it'll prompt u to enter id/password which is admin / password

You will now go into the system n be asked to type in a new password, just make it admin, that way its admin/admin

U will need to change the vc connections on the top to a "bridge" connection. I believe right now it should say PPoE.

After you have done that n saved ur settings, there should be a pop up saying that ur modem needs to be restarted, click on yes....

While this is happeneing, disconnect the wire fro the modem to u computer, and connecth the modem to the router, and the from the router to ur computer.

AFter a minute or two, type in again 192.168.1.1
If you see a westell modem webpage or cannot find webpage, wait and keep refreshing until u see the linksys homepage. it might ask you for a username and password, which in this case is the same as before. admin/admin
You will then find that there will be a connections webpage, click on the tab setup, n click on PPoE setting. Type in your verizon id and password below since it needs to be there in order to keep you online.

Click on the last tab which says status, it should have a button to connect or disconnect, Make sure that you are connected.

You should be done after this n good to go

OK so it worked wired and not wireless...

If I stopped by I could get this running in about 5 minutes... trying to exlain it here will be a bit hard... this is why I dont do tech support over the phone/email/etc

Anyhow. Leave your DSL modem/router just the way it is, its working.

The DSL modem router should have 1 "WAN" port that goes to the phone jack in the wall and then a couple of other LAN ports that you connect the computers to.

The Linksys should be the same, 1 WAN, probably 4 LAN ports.

Using a regular ethernet cable, connect a LAN port on the Linksys to a LAN port on the Westell. If you dont get a link light then you need what is called a cross-over cable, which I can get for you.

I am assuming you can get into the config for the linksys... what model is it? Anyhow, go into the config and see if there is a wireless setting to run in "bridged mode", or perhaps "Access point" mode rather than "router" mode. You should be able to access the linksys config from the MAC with either an ethernet cable or via wireless.. I would try doing it with the cable first, get everything working and then try the wireless. There should be NOTHING plugged into the WAN port on your linksys at this time (you may HAVE to do this later, but you really shouldnt be required to, depending on what the exact incompatibilities are with the Westell and iMac are, which I assume are wireless related)

You should now have a wireless bridge to the wired ethernet network and the Westell should provide your mac an IP address via DHCP.

Its really a lot more complicated than this, but I am trying to keep it simple. Blah.
