I am a refeformed gear nazi... I almost always ride with boots, gloves and jacket, but I have to wear business casual for work, so I skimp on the pants, and although I am not happy about it, my commute is 10 miles at 630AM, on rt35, so traffic is light, and relatively slow...
last few weeks I have been more squidly than usual, even going out with shorts, a tshirt and sneaks, with no socks! i burned myself on a friends pipe doing that, so i learned my lesson.

i guess im a gear nazi. i have ridden without anything but running pants, sneakers and a wife beater. i wont do it again.
now i wear a joe rocket sonic (perforated) jacket, exo armor upper body, icon leg armor and fammz slide shorts. oh and boots, gloves and lid.
i crashed about a month ago at 50 or so and slid for a ways. i got up, started my bike, went home and watched the game...with a beer.
i dont mind if others dont wear gear, and i dont call people squids. ive done my share of "squidly" things.

when i take long rides i gear up, but if its just to school (5 min ride, cant go faster then 30, and im at a light pretty much every block) i just have my helmet and gloves. i cant ride without gloves i feel weird. and to be honest if it wasnt for gear i would be in pretty bad shape after saturday.

Na only kidding. I'm usually covered up. Always a Jacket and gloves even in the summer. Joe Rocket Pheonix works well.
