I know the mirrors come off easily, but I dont know where the wires are connected deep down. I took the mirrors off when I installed the windscreen. It really is no big deal leaving them on though. At least for my first time out.

True, but as you start to advance to a more aggressive body position and your head placement gets further forward and down towards the wind screen those mirrors might inhibit your line of sight.

NO I was just merely pointing out they come off easily and its one less thing to break off. Nothing more.
Schwantz instructors use them to watch pupils.
