Default New Wheels On… (NDUS)

One of the nice things about a track day is having a tire mounted for just a very small fee (compared to dealers). So with the front tire now mounted I switched out the front rotors polished the existing rotor bolts (er… have buffer, will use) and mounted what will now be my commuting wheels up.

The rear came with a somewhat newish Sportech and a shot 207 on the front. The front rim wasn’t as ‘Excellent’ as advertised, by far, some of the finish is gone from an accident the squid obviously had. He was also running a single rotor up front which can lead to premature bearing failure. Good thing I had an extra front rim on hand (don’t ask). The front tire… My OEM Metz MEZ1a. How many people still running on that tire! So yes, I’m running a M1 rear and MEZ1 front.

Now with everything transferred and mounted I headed off to work. The 200/50 feels weird to say the least. It wasn’t until I got home before I figured out why. He never leaned the bike over and it’s still new and smooth. Never mind the grooves in the rear from doing burnouts (see below)

Anyway… Pictures…

My OEM MEZ1a with only a few hundred miles on it…

A sudden craving for chicken…

My prodigy…

With attitude… This is my bike, this is my gun… This is for riding, this is for fun. :lol

I told Pres I was done taking pictures and got the ‘I’m out of here’ response.

This is how it looked on Monday at the track…

Bike's lookin' great, never seen one like it.

Scrap that wide 200 and pick up a 190 or 180, you'll thank yourself for it in the twisties on the street.

The TLS is becoming a bike that’s few and far between. Suzuki stopped its production in '01 (which this one is) so running into someone else that has one doesn't happen very often.

The silver set of rims has a 180/55 on it (last shot). Once I've killed the existing 200/50 on the black set I'll go back to a 190/50 ST tire for commuting.

The reason I picked up the new rims was to have a set for the street and another for the track. Since this bike plays double duty (street/track) I wanted to stop killing tires by commuting on them.
