Default My journey...

The story in short…
I bought this bike, my first sportbike, in February of 2008. Did 12-14 trackdays last year and ended with a bang…or two by crashing my last two times out. I know zero about engines, tires, wheels, wrenches, PSI, suspension, chains, HP, electrical…you get the point. I thought if I don’t start now I’ll never learn a damn thing…so thanks to this site esp the SB, WERAs forum, and GDC for helping a newb out and answering A LOT of questions.

then...

then...

The learning process began...

So here's what I did...

Replaced Fairing stay
Installed new brake pads
Bled brakes
New clipon
Replaced stock shock with Penske
Removed forks and sent to Traxxion, reinstalled
New Vortex rearsets
New left case cover
New left slider and bolt
Welded swingarm spools (i didnt do the welding)
New subframe or three
Learn where the tipover switch was and whats a C23 Code
Replaced coolant
changed oil and filter
repaired bodywork-fiberglassed a large hole in belly fairing-bondo
bought air compressor ($89), paint gun ($15), paint ($54), Mask ($25)
learned to paint...kinda
cleaned calipers
steel brake lines
bled brakes again
safety wired everything in sight
new windscreen
replaced spark plugs
replaced air filter
removed kickstand
added -1 front sprocket
+2 rear sprocket
stomp grip install
Changed my own tires...the cheap way....video to come
installed sb tail
replace shift linkage

Here are some pics of the safety wiring, some kinda funny:

The bike...now.

My Oscar speech...and finally a special thanks to:

Omnipotent Joe, Cakes, 1qwik6...and who knows what else
Levi for living in the shout box and digging reddd and responding after everyone else left.
Ian for saying hey at Beaverun
Rob for setting me straight, multiple times
Jake for his love and honest constant kindness
John for listening late in the night...when most are asleep
Troy for being the final judge on what to do and how to do it and why its doing it.
Ant for answering my early questions on tires at Beave.
Ralph for passing me in tech always
Tommy for doing gods work

And everyone for not knowing who the fack i am but helping me through this hell aka winter. The depression will end shortly...see you at the track!
