Gixxer Lever Replacement
Okay, do I have to take the whole brake lever and hoses apart to just replace a bent stock lever with another stock lever? I have the 2007 Gixxer 600. I don't wanna start taking stuff apart and realize I just got brake fluid all over my bike. My manual shows me how to take it ALL apart, not just the lever so I'm not sure if it all has to come apart. (ha I said come)
Anyone?

Na, pop lever off, pop new lever on. Should be no hoses involved, just cables. 5 Minute job. While you got them off, why not put on a good lever like a Pazzo?

Ya beat me to it Mr. Pete...yup, shorties (levers that is) don't bend/break as easily.

Swappin out levers is cake, no pun intended. Everything with the master cylinder stays intact. Actually no cable either with the radial master.

I don't have the money to spend on my bike right now. Paying it off since my accident has proven harder than I thought since I lost my job.

If I recall correctly, its literally one screw/pin that holds the lever in place....
BTW, the colors are fun, but dark blue on a dark grey background is brutal....

Yes, just a nut and bolt. Any stay with the stock lever, they are easier to pull than a short one.

You can put a relief in the lever. About 1 inch in from the end and on the side that faces the grip take a hacksaw to it and cut about 1/4 into the lever. This way if you fall the lever breaks at that point and you still have most of the lever to use.

HA!!! By that you mean all the guys that offered to look at my boobs online! Funny. Its just me here, no help, and I'd rather do it alone. I get to know my bike more intimately. My own oil changes, my own lever replacement. Hopefully nothing much else!
