Not a Good Day for Cakes
Ok, so after doing the rear caliper rebuild, with the weather breaking, I finally had some time to continue putting the sv back together. Everything was going well, mounted the caliper, bolted up the brake line, opened up the fill plug(theres no reservoir, just a 6" tube capped off,) put fluid in, and started to work it through, moving the pistons. After about a dozen or so pumps of the brake lever, more and more resistance started building up, to the point where I was having to force the lever down then back up. Knew something was definitely wrong. Started tearin the bitch down, finally after a few whacks of the mallet against the T-8 I was able to separate the lever from the peg, only to find the lever was binding against the peg. Guess after 7 years, things like this tend to happen. Replacing the stock lever with a Woodcraft. Also ordered a Woodcraft shift lever while I'm at it, hopefully my luck will start to turn around.

When you reassemble the reasets, put a dab of grease on the footpeg and lever. Should prevent that from happening again...

New parts are always good sure. Just another bump in the road I didn't need in getting this bike all set for the new season. Still on the To Do list, new plugs and oil change, pick up the lower from the body shop when its done(exhaust burnt a hole in the bottom.) Couple little things here and there. I think cabin fever is really setting in is what it is. Last year, hitting up Jennings took the edge off so it wasn't as bad. Beaver can't come quick enough(lol, that made me laugh.)
