Truck Owners

Where do you go for service? Do you guys go to the dealer? Do you bring it to a reputable shop like Midas? Do you DIY?

RCM78 10-07-2010 09:09 AM

Where did you bring your car? Truck is no different really...

JimRBlue 10-07-2010 10:52 AM

The only time I go to a dealer is to pick up a vehicle

CBRBob 10-07-2010 12:34 PM

DIY everything, except alignments.

Jon FZ1 10-07-2010 01:15 PM

Dealer for pick up & warranty. Driveway for routine maintenance.

ffejtable 10-07-2010 04:08 PM

Seriously???

MarioB 10-07-2010 06:40 PM

Ian you can do routine maintenance yourself, but Ralph made an excellent point where did you take your car?

ronaldo9 10-07-2010 07:23 PM

For stuff I couldn't do I went to Midas or Pep Boys however I used to buy my own parts and bring it to them lol.

Dealer for warranty work...knock on wood it hasn't had to go to the dealer lol. Goodyear for everything else, only cause I got a hook up lol.

DIY. Oil changes are easy...

Jon FZ1 10-14-2010 08:39 AM

Especially DIY oil changes. On my Ford PowerStroke 7.3 turbo diesel it drank 15 quarts of oil and used an oil filter the size of a football. I would just buy 4 gallons of oil and a filter and have it done in 30 minutes with no ramps. It takes a while for all that oil to drain....

Yeah he and another mechanic own it. It's a small 3 bay shop right at the border of Trenton and Hamilton.
