What do you need sir?

Number one reason is reliability. Performance and price a factor too.

Friend bought a 675 about 2 weeks after I got my 636, and after riding it I thought I made a mistake.

The only advantage the 675 has is being "different" in a world of "me too" bikes, and not a substantially higher price tag. The 3cyl is also a nice compromise between an I4 and vtwin.

But for all the reasons posted, Id really rather have the Kawi.

I got my 675 for the performance of the 3 cylinder Triumph engine and its agility. LOVE it and am 100% glad I bought it:nopity:

Edit: voted "performance" last night (I was tired).... remove 1 vote from there Joe...  :fail:

Convenience of dealer locations....
Parts usually in stock (ex: wcw)
Bike Specs. such as weight vs say a Daytona...
Cost

Shit load of parts on Ebay when needed lol

soda7o 05-10-2008 07:32 PM

cause all the dumb kids get jap bike and crash them and there is an unlimited parts availability and oh yeah...i got my 04 750 in 04 and it cost me 35% of what it was going for at the dealer... thanks to a dumb kid who crashed it wiht out insurnce.. :)

JAPANESE SPORTBIKE - have a great maintinance cost to power to value ratio.

Western world bikes can be more expensive to maintain and even harder to
find parts for. However, I still want that damn Triumph Speed Triple. F-ing
Brits.... :roflmao:

Other: much easier to chrome out a jap bike.

Other: The looks (Of course that's when I had a bike! - I'm mostly about aesthetics when it comes to cars and bikes!)

All of the above, but also add reliability.

I have a 675. I absolutely hate it. My zx6r was much better. The 675 is horrible. I hate how it doesn't abruptly hit the power band at 12,000 rpms. I hate how it has so much torque all the way through the rev range. I hate how makes me wanna drag my knee.

On a serious note.... It is an awesome bike and will continue buying triumph and avoid buying soul-less jap bikes. Yeah the parts are more sparse on ebay because there are less of them. The prices of parts are almost the same as jap bikes. They are just as reliable as any other bike. Triumph had issues back in the 70's with there bikes and everyone is holding that against them.

The only problems i have with triumphs is that there aren't enough dealerships.
